A live-action Ahsoka show based on the Star Wars: The Clone Wars character has been in the works for ten years, reveals Lucasfilm’s Jon Favreau.
The upcoming live-action Ahsoka show based on George Lucas and Dave Filoni’s Star Wars: The Clone Wars character has been in the works for ten years. Following the release of the first Ahsoka trailer, more information on the next Disney+ Star Wars show has been revealed. The Ahsoka show is expected to revisit familiar faces from the animated series, namely Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels, as well as introduce new characters.

"To have Ahsoka in live-action as a story that could stand alongside all the classic Star Wars cinema was something Dave had wanted to do."
Star Wars Rebels Really WAS Setup For The Live-Action Ahsoka Show It is interesting to notice that, ten years ago, Star Wars Rebels was just about to start. Therefore, even if there were only a few early ideas regarding an Ahsoka TV show, it seems like Star Wars Rebels was partially used as a setup for future Ahsoka stories. Ahsoka Tano joined the Rebels crew at the end of Rebels season 1 and was a recurrent character in season 2.
