'Aggressive, heavily armed, with no regard for life': Sounding the alarm over violent KZN cash robbers
A crime expert has raised concern about the level of violence seen during cash-in-transit robberies, with several incidents occurring in KwaZulu-Natal since Monday.
Chad Thomas, an organised crime investigator from IRS Forensic Investigations, told News24 that CIT criminals are becoming more dangerous and better equipped with automatic rifles, commercial explosives and high-speed vehicles. This after a police captain narrowly survived a hail of bullets from CIT robbers on the N2 Highway northbound, just before the KwaMashu Highway off-ramp, on Thursday morning.
