Kaizer Chiefs were offered a top striker target who wanted to come to the club, but their management fumbled the deal according to an agent
Nabi spent three seasons a Yanga, going on to win a double treble with the club. He also went as far as taking them to thefinal in the 2022/23 season. One of the key players in that run for his side was a striker called. He had two impressive seasons there, scoring 16 goals apiece. By the time he left, he had 32 goals in 52 games in the Tanzanian league. This then saw the likes of Chiefs interested in his services.
There were rumours that Chiefs were trying to bring both Nabi and Mayele in at the start of last season. They came close to appointing the Tunisian tactician who eventually joined them this season. According to the striker’s agent,“I had a mandate from Mayele to get him into the top clubs in the PSL, and I did offer the player to Chiefs because that was one of the clubs he wanted.
Chiefs fans, would you spend big on a 30-year-old Mayele if it meant guaranteed goals and short-term success? Feel free to leave your feelings and thoughts in the comments below.
