Not to put too fine a point on this, but that’s what “tax increase” means. But the GOP senator appears to be trying a different tack, proposing a tax hikeSen. But that’s not “real simple” at all. If the senator wants to narrow his focus, pushing tax increases on those who are currently outside the workforce, that would be problematic in different ways, but it would be a different conversation.
