Reports now suggest that the prize money for the African Football League is set for a massive increase!
A combined amount of $13.8 million is believed to have been injected into the competition's reward structure, with the runners-up now set to receive $2.8 million .
Teams that lose in the semi-finals will reportedly earn $1.7 million , while participants who do not progress pass the quarter-final stage will get $900 000 . Eight confirmed clubs from around the continent will contest the inaugural African Football League, namely: South African champions Mamelodi Sundowns, Egyptian giants Al Ahly, Wydad Athletic Club of Morocco, Tunisia's Esperance Sportive de Tunis, TP Mazembe of Democratic Republic of Congo, Nigeria's Enyimba Football Club, Simba Sports Club from Tanzania and Atletico Petroleos de Luanda of Angola.
