It is not clear if this decision has anything to do with his controversial tweets over the last two days. Gen Kayanja Muhanga, who has led Ugandan army missions in Somalia and is currently leading the contingent fighting the Allied Democratic Front rebels in the Democratic Republic of Congo, will take over as the commander of land forces.

Clinical Officers Say Kenya Not Prepared to Tackle EbolaThe Kenya Union of Clinical Officers (KUCO) has decried the lack of preparedness to deal with Ebola should it strike in the counties that borders the neighbouring countries. The union's National Chairman Peterson Wachira, says that his team has toured a number of counties in the Lake Region Economic Bloc and noted concerns from the public and health workers. Wachira indicated that the government has failed in its mandate to offer education to the communities that are vulnerable. He also toured public health facilities in Kisumu to assess their preparedness says the government has abandoned its people. He called on the government to quickly dispatch public health officers to the communities for further discussions. The Kenya Medical Practitioners Pharmacists and Dentists' Union (KMPDU) wants the government to educate medics on Ebola Virus identification and management in the event of an outbreak. While the ministry of health is appealing to Kenyans to minimise their movement along the Western Border following the outbreak in Uganda. The ministry issued an alert in September 2022 asking counties to be vigilant and enhance surveillance at the border points after one person died in Uganda on September 20.
