) - The Alabama Department of Corrections is searching for an inmate who escaped Tuesday from a job site in south Mobile County.
Ricky Lavon Lay, 39, who is serving a 16-year-sentence for third-degree burglary out of Fayette County, left his assigned job location in Bayou La Batre at around 3:30 p.m., authorities said. Lay is 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighs 175 pounds and has brown hair and blue eyes. He has multiple tattoos. He was wearing Green shirt, blue jeans and work boots, according to ADOC.
