The actor-comedian’s latest Netflix title has scored higher on Rotten Tomatoes than any of his other films
Adam Sandler has set himself a new record on Rotten Tomatoes thanks to his latest film on Netflix. Out of the whole of his 34 year-long career in the movie industry, You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah has become his all-time best-reviewed movie.
The high rating has broken previous records, including 93 per cent for his 2022 hit Hustle, 2017’s The Meyerowitz Stories and 2019’s Uncut Gems . There is always chance for the score to change however as more reviews come in over the coming days. Although the comedian plays a relatively small role in the movie, he is the producer, with his teenage daughter Sunny taking the lead part. The film also features his wife, Jackie Sandler, as well as Frozen's Idina Menzel.
Richard Roeper of the Chicago Sun-Times added: "A comedy blessed with cultural weight." Frank Scheck from Hollywood Reporter described the film as "a fun family affair." Samantha Bergeson at IndieWire typed: "An easily watchable treat for the entire family."
