One of the accused in the murders of AKA and Tibz says he was assaulted by police.
One of the accused in the murder trial of rapper Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes and Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane has told the Durban Magistrate’s Court that he was assaulted by police and forced to confess.Mkhwanazi also has pending charges of murder, illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition, in a separate matter.
Speaking through his lawyer Advocate Simphiwe Mlotshwa, Mkhwanazi says, “The assault upon me by the police started immediately. Though I have been told in Mtubatuba my arrest is that of Mr William Kunene, I was greatly surprised that during the assault by the police, also telling me, demanded me, to make a confession statement to the murder of AKA instead of Kunene, which I have been arrested. I denied steadfastly any involvement with the murder of AKA.
