AC Milan secured a comfortable 4-0 victory over Udinese in Serie A, but the match took a sinister turn when goalkeeper Mike Maignan suffered a head injury colliding with teammate Alex Jimenez. The incident forced Maignan off the pitch, raising concerns about his well-being.

AC Milan secured a crucial 4-0 victory over Udinese on Friday, keeping their European qualification hopes alive, but the match was overshadowed by a worrying head injury to goalkeeper Mike Maignan . Leao opened the scoring for Milan before Pavlovic doubled their lead just before half-time. However, during a clearance attempt, Maignan collided heads with teammate Alex Jimenez, leaving him needing to be stretchered off.

Milan confirmed that Maignan was conscious and transported to the hospital for further examination. Jimenez, on the other hand, continued playing despite the incident. The incident occurred six minutes into the second half, prompting applause from the home fans at the Bluenergy Stadium. Minutes before the collision, a section of Udinese supporters had booed Maignan as he approached the goal in front of the hardcore home fans, who also chanted insults towards him. This incident evokes memories of January last year when Maignan was subjected to racial abuse by a small number of Udinese supporters during a match in Udine, leading to the club identifying and banning five individuals responsible for the offensive remarks.Despite the unsettling events, Milan cruised to victory with goals from Hernandez and Reijnders in the second half. Milan remain in ninth position but are now just four points behind Lazio, who occupy the sixth and final Conference League spot. They will be hoping to close the gap further with a favorable result against local rivals Roma on Sunday
