Mamelodi Sundowns will welcome new striker Abubeker Nassir when pre-season starts, but the Siya crew has been informed that the technical team needs to make a big decision on the player.
Sundowns signed the Ethiopian international during the January transfer window, but was sent back to his club Ethiopian Coffee, with the intention of welcoming him to Chloorkop in July.According to information gathered by the Siya crew, Sundowns are going to have a look at the player to see if he is ready to break into the starting line-up at Chloorkop.
If not, they could send the player out on loan to get some valuable experience in the local game, before recalling him. That decision, however, will only be made after the player has spent some time in training and in friendly matches that Sundowns are expected to play during pre-season.Nassir has been in good form for Ethiopia during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. In Ethiopia's 2-0 victory over Egypt on Thursday night, Nassir assisted the opening.
