Abu Dhabi International Airport recently opened up a brand new terminal and now the airport will also be getting a new name.
After a delay of over six years, Abu Dhabi International Airport officially opened their new airport terminal, ‘Terminal A’ this November., Midfield Terminal, which will be known as Terminal A, can accommodate around 45 million passengers per year, process 11 000 travellers per hour and operate 79 aircraft at any one time.The terminal is said to cover 742 000 sqm, one of the largest airport terminals in the world, and is expected to greatly increase the airport’s passenger and cargo capacity.
“As Abu Dhabi’s new gateway to the world, Terminal A is an embodiment of Abu Dhabi Airports’ commitment to support the emirate’s sustainable economic development,” Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad said.It’s reported that several airlines including Etihad Airways, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi and Air Arabia Abu Dhabi will move into the new terminal.
