The Yankees were officially eliminated from postseason contention on Sunday with their lifeless loss to the Diamondbacks and Aaron Judge isn't happy about it.
Judge didn’t stop there. In what felt like a direct message to owner Hal Steinbrenner and the front office, he insisted that sweeping changes need to be made for this club to contend in 2024, making up for the significant step back that this team took during this disappointing and disastrous campaign.
Asked to elaborate and dive into some specifics, Judge declined ... although he did say that he has some ideas. The Yankees are 77-76 after Sunday’s 7-1 loss to the Diamondbacks, one game above .500 with seven remaining, flirting with what would be their first losing season since 1992. While manager Aaron Boone alluded to changes in playing time over the final week of the year beginning on Monday, Judge assured that he’ll be playing the rest of the way, unencumbered by his right big toe injury and the lack of postseason implications.
