Traffic chaos continues in Poulton, as roadworks, traffic lights and signage causes mass disruption in the area
Motorists are continuing to express their fury over traffic 'nightmare' traffic on the Fylde Coast that has been worsened as Easter holiday traffic descends on the area.
So far, the petition has amassed 95 signatures, but it appears that the problem is much more widespread and affects a lot more people, both from in the area and beyond. Chris told LancsLive: "I don't think people have really got a grip of the impact this is going to make to their lives. "This overloads those routes and the next thing we'll have is knee jerk roads experts telling us those routes are going to be subject to something else Draconian." Chris says that when the plans for the current roadworks were in the initial stages, the ideas were challenged.
Iain Rawson has lived in Little Thornton for over 40 years and has seen much of the disruption that the roadworks are causing from his own experiences, as well as hearing stories from family and friends. He says he "feels sorry" for local businesses, as people avoid certain places and areas in the vicinity of the chaos.
Iain also points out the confusion of the road signs in the area, with the vast amount of them, as well as the confusing white lines on the road, causing an issue for some. He explains that for people who aren't locals to Poulton, may not be aware of where they're allowed to drive, giving an example of him witnessing one motorist that had driven the wrong way along the road for a considerable stretch.
