So, when Monica Gutierrez of McAllen, Texas, sent a text his way, she never expected to hear back.
Gutierrez was compelled to contact Kutcher after attending one of her son’s middle school cross-country meets. There, one of his teammates was injured while racing because he didn’t own racing flats or evenHer son, Oswaldo Briones, suggested giving his teammate some of his old shoes, but they were too small. Then he wondered if they could buy some for his friend. However, being a single mother, Gutierrez was unable to afford them. Still wanting to help, they came up with another plan.
