“But does that mean they’re putting her there because it was time to diversify? No, it was because she was better. Diversity had a huge play in who presented in the World Cup, but we have to keep pushing that. “It’s something I’ve been crying out for. I grew up in London in Battersea, the opportunities I had to play were far greater then, even when the game wasn’t in a great place to what these inner city young kids have now,” she told talkSPORT.com at the Fifa 23 women’s football summit.“There’s limited opportunity for them to play and I’m talking grassroots level. None of the WSL clubs have talent centres in London, they’re all outside of London. So in terms of accessibility, it’s difficult.
