A24's new cookbook looks into frightfully delicious food
, the book is sure to delight fans of food and fright alike. Sure, you could cook from it , but wouldn’t you rather leave it on your coffee table so that everyone can see how erudite you are?spoke to editor LinYee Yuan about its origins and her personal favorite recipes. Read the interview below.A24 came to me with the idea of doing an art cookbook that was based around horror films.
From there, we decided to whittle it down to a specific number of recipes that we wanted to share in the book.I think food is very visceral. Eating is one of the only things we do, besides sex, that engages all of our senses. I also think that horror as a form of visual storytelling has a very visceral effect on the viewer…horror films demand a full-body experience when watching them. Seeing that kind of experience translated into something edible is really exciting.
