What happens when Helldivers 2’s enemies meet?
Summary Based on how Helldivers 2's Galactic Map is set up and evolving, a massive faction clash could create cool new missions. Though the insect-like Terminids and robotic Automatons are currently on separate sides of the Galactic Map, both are slowly pushing toward Super Earth.
However, these planets will likely have objectives Helldivers will have to intervene in, forcing them between these massive firefights. Based on how other games with multiple enemy factions go, the AI of both enemies may prioritize players if they are noticed or in range. This could make battles drastically different, as one now has to avoid the melee swarm specialists of the Terminids while dodging long-range fire from Automatons.
How Would Automaton Versus Terminid Missions Go? Strategizing for Helldivers 2's New Threat These types of missions would likely incorporate many of the current objectives, but it would be wise to add some new ones. On the galactic scope of the game, special events similar to the recent Automaton defense could happen. There could be a set number of planets in conflict with both sides and, depending on what missions Helldivers do, decide which faction wins. The planet would then be able to be liberated like normal, where it was impossible before, as both factions committed massive forces to the surface.
