A lucrative 'love affair': ANC president Ramaphosa banks on feelings to sustain hegemony
ANC president Cyril Ramaphosa says he is unfazed by the formation of former president Jacob Zuma's uMkonto weSizwe Party ahead of the 29 May general election.
Speaking to supporters during a campaign in Cosmo City, Johannesburg, on Saturday, Ramaphosa said:"We have seen that with the UDM formation, with COPE and the EFF, but the ANC remains standing. It has never weakened the ANC in terms of its overall support base. "The people of this country continue to love the ANC. They have a love affair with the ANC that has sustained the ANC and the progress we have seen in this country over 30 years.South Africans need to be in the know if we want to create a prosperous future.
