Mechanicsburg's Jubilee Day is this Thursday, June 15, 2023, with 100 years of history behind the 'largest, longest, one-day festival on the East Coast.'

The seed of the idea for Jubilee Day began in 1923 when merchants attended a townwide event in Gettysburg and wanted something similar to happen in Mechanicsburg.In the early years, the celebration had a farming focus, including agriculture and livestock displays, judging of chickens, butter, eggs, corn and cattle. It evolved away from farming as the area around Mechanicsburg developed.
By the mid-1930s the name was shortened to Jubilee Day and was eventually held on the third Thursday in June.
