CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — “If you say it’s beautiful, I trust you,” said Dianne Griffin as she and Charlene Mille unwrapped a project Griffin was eager to see.
The rug began as a retirement project for her mother-in-law, Florence Griffin, 26 years ago. The sunflowers were to be a part of her home’s entryway, lying inside the front door. Finally, at a Christmas craft fair, Griffin made the right connections, and in March she entrusted the rug to a group of hookers who meet monthly at the Farm Centre.Lynn Cudmore, left, is joined by fellow hookers Lynda Lowry Rayner, Mary Ploughman Jones and Carol VanToever in displaying a hooked rug they all helped to make. - Contributed
“Not everybody hooks the same, not everybody’s tension is the same, “said Miller, referring to the shape and height of each loop. “But overall, I think it’s very beautiful.”
