The little girl, who cannot be named, was sent by her siblings to go buy chips at a nearby spaza shop on 1 September 2019. But she did not return home. “The victim led her grandmother, together with some members of the community, to the house belonging to Louis Pepping and identified him as the person who had grabbed her from the street and raped her in his room,” the court heard.Community members assaulted Louis until he was rescued by the local traditional leader who summoned the police.
