San Antonio-born businessman Henry Muñoz once ran an architectural firm, even though he wasn’t a trained architect. Now, he's said to have been paid millions by a healthcare nonprofit even though doesn’t have a medical degree or healthcare experience.

Muñoz is a San Antonio-born entrepreneur who gained national prominence as a Democratic Party fundraiser. A recent report in the Daily Beast questioned his role as a consultant for a publicly funded healthcare nonprofit in New York.
And many people do, given his business success, prowess as a political fundraiser and talent for cultivating friends in high places, including former President Barack Obama and the late Texas Gov. Ann Richards. That’s a common denominator among people who have lots to say about Muñoz. They prefer to say it privately. Some who sent me a link to the Daily Beast article didn’t want others to know they had.The story is labeled an “exclusive,” and the headline states the gist: “How the DNC’s former chief fundraiser turned a Medicaid program into his personal money hose.”
Muñoz is the former CEO of the San Antonio architectural firm Kell Muñoz. He’s also a former finance chair of the Democratic National Committee. With actor-activist Eva Longoria, he founded the pro-Democratic Latino Victory organization. He’s chairman of the board of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Latino, and he owns the production company Funny or Die.
