The emergency 911 number is down, with cellphones and landlines unable to get through locally, Anchorage police say.
Police said cellphones and landlines in the state “cannot get through to 9-1-1 locally.”
People who need to reach Anchorage police dispatch should call 311 and select option 1, or call 907-786-8900 and select option 0. The police department said the 911 number is not working because of an Alaska Communications network outage in the Lower 48.Alaska Communications said Tuesday that it was “investigating a potential service disruption” impacting phone and internet services.
