As the 96th Academy Awards takes place tonight, there are several controversial moments that have made headlines over the years.
Will thought the joke was out of order because his wife has alopecia and yelled at Chris, "keep my wife's name out of your f*****g mouth!" before he stormed on stage and slapped the host. Will said later apologised but was banned from going to the Oscars for ten years. He did still get to keep the Oscar he won that night.
Oscars So White When the list of nominees for the Academy Awards in 2015 was released, it was safe to say a lot of people weren't best pleased by the lack of diversity. The nominated actors were 86 percent white and many felt that deserving stars had been snubbed due to their race. They confirmed La La Land as the winner but as Jordan Horowitz gave his acceptance speech, it was revealed they'd made a mistake. Jordan handed the statue over to the cast of Moonlight, who had in fact won the award.
Sex Confession When Daniel Kaluuya took to the stage to accept the award for his role in Judas and the Black Messiah he made a rather unusual admission about his parents sex life. He expressed how happy he was to be alive, telling the audience: "My mom, my dad, they had sex!"
