The fire is located just east of Moreno Valley near the intersection of Gilman Springs Rd. and Alessandro Blvd., according to Riverside County firefighters, and on Monday is 50% contained.
Firefighters are engaged with a large brush fire burning east of Moreno Valley. The fire, dubbed the Lisa Fire by crews, was first reported a little after 1 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of Gilman Springs Road and Alessandro Boulevard, according to Riverside County Fire Department officials. After just four hours, firefighters reported that the blaze had quickly grown from 77 acres to 867 acres.
As of Monday afternoon, firefighters have the fire 95% contained, but the difficult terrain has made the battle difficult and that the aftermath from the fire had reached 893 acres.Multiple engine and hand crews were sent to the site of the fire, where they have been supported by CalFire air tankers and water-dropping helicopters.
