The Killers have been half the band they used to be over the past couple of years, at least on tour, where bassist Mark Stoermer and guitarist Dave Keuning have been notably absent as they focus on their solo careers and young families. As of this past summer, they were missing from the studio sessions for the band’s upcoming sixth record,, too.
Little else is known about the record, but it’s expected to hit in spring, and song titles they’ve shared via Twitter include “Dying Breed,” “My God,” “Blowback,” and My Own Souls Warning.” Their most recent song, 2019’s standalone single “Land of the Free,” was a politically-charged anthem taking on gun violence and Trump’s inhumane immigration policies.
