Some fantastic choices
There's no better feeling than relaxing in the great outdoors, taking in the fresh air and sun. And with the summer season getting into full swing the thought of breath-taking views and beautiful landscapes is likely to be one many people will have had.
But there are several others closer to home, in the Derbyshire Peaks, and one in Lincolnshire, which experts say are worthy of consideration for a country retreat: Barn Farm Campsite, Matlock Set a handy seven miles from Bakewell, and just three miles from Matlock, this farm borders Stanton Moor and is in easy reach of the River Lathkill. Ideal for nature lovers, the site has views of the Derwent Valley and attracts shy deer and badgers.
Hill Farm Caravan and Camping Site, Barrow-Upon-Trent, Derby Less than an hour from the Peak District and in easy reach of the A50, guests can bring a tent, choose a range of grass and hardstanding pitches or a glamping stay and relax in hot tubs in one of the Lotus Belle tents or camping pods. The site is also 20 minutes from Donington Park.
Bank House Farm, Hartington, near Buxton Set in the heart of the Peak District and next to the River Maniford, Bank House Farm is a family-run caravan and camping site with beautiful scenery. Across 15 acres, guests can choose from grass and hardstanding pitches for tents and tourers, with award-winning facilities nearby. Great for couples and families alike, it's a fantastic base for the Peaks, Derbyshire, and the Staffordshire Moorlands. Campfires and friendly dogs are also welcome.
