Though a few successful movies based on Marvel properties predate it, 2000's X-Men did a lot to redefine what a superhero movie could be and how comic characters would be adapted to the big screen for years to come.
Jon Hamm was set to play Mister Sinister, who was planned to appear in the movie's post-credit scenes and in future sequels, but it never came to be. If the MCU wants to avoid repeating villains from the Fox franchise, at least at first, Mister Sinister would be a perfect way to finally pay off a character that has hitherto been relegated to mentions and teases. if Hamm is still interested, he seems perfect for the role.
5 Emma Frost Emma Frost has actually appeared twice already in X-Men movies - once as a central character portrayed by January Jones in X-Men: First Class and once very briefly played by Tahyna Tozzi in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. While both showcased the character's ability to transform into pure diamonds, neither has gotten even close to nailing Frost's mesmerizing presence and personality. Also a powerful telepath, Emma Frost is far from a simple hero or villain in Marvel Comics.
