With so many new faces, there could lots of new stars for the Trojans this season.
With USC training camp entering its second week, here’s a look at seven breakout candidates for the 2022 season .The former Mater Dei running back was the first commit under the Lincoln Riley regime, and was a former member of Riley’s Oklahoma recruiting class. Though he missed the spring, Riley has a strong feel for how Brown would fit into his offense, potentially bouncing around from the backfield to the slot to kick and punt returns.
All that is to say that the door is wide open for an edge rusher to break out and take the job, and Height is the natural candidate. He’s fast and explosive and has impressed coaches since he enrolled prior to spring football.Jackson was the top-rated recruit in the state of California in the 2022 cycle. It’s tough for true freshman to play at cornerback, but he played in the spring — though he was still recovering from a knee injury for part of it.
