HPD officers are investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian that happened at around 5:15 a.m. on the 7900 block of Westheimer Road.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office is investigating a hit-and-run that occurred early Saturday morning on Airline DriveA 68-year-old man using a walker was hit by a car and killed early Friday while trying to cross the street in west Houston, police said.
The man was dragged for half a mile from where he was hit, according to police. The driver of the vehicle didn't stop to help. The man was using a crosswalk at about 5:15 a.m. near the Lazy Hollow Drive intersection in the 8800 block of Westheimer Road, when he was hit by an eastbound vehicle. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police blocked off Westheimer between Lazy Hollow and Hullsmith, a six-tenth of a mile stretch, during the crash investigation. Anyone with information should call the Houston Police Department's Hit and Run Unit at 713-247-4072 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-8477.
