The Scots are in Amsterdam as Euro 2024 preparations step up but it's a chance to experiment.
Steve Clarke is a Scotland creature of habit, but has hinted that he may try something a bit different against the Netherlands.
"I won't tell you what it is but these are the kind of games where you can use that opportunity to try something to be a little bit different. Maybe it works, maybe it doesn't. Maybe we have to readjust after we've seen it in action against the Dutch. But we just want to keep improving. There's no real secret to that. There's no short circuit. You just have to work as hard as you can every time you're together.
“Lawrence could start," Clarke admitted. "So could Lyndon Dykes. So could Che Adams. Over the two games all the strikers will get minutes. It doesn’t matter who starts, it’s not important. It’s more important how they play when they get to the pitch and what their contribution to the team is.”Lewis Ferguson is another who has made himself hard to ignore this season.
