49ers add to running back corps with LSU’s Ty Davis-Price

SANTA CLARA — The 49ers added Ty Davis-Price to a running back corps that was depleted by injury last season and required wide receiver Deebo Samuel to ignite their playoff charge.

After drafting just one running back from 2017-20 , the 49ers took a pair last year in Trey Sermon and eventual 2021 rushing leader Elijah Mitchell . “Right before I left to go to the airport, I chatted up with him a couple of minutes,” Davis-Price said. “Great guy, great guy. Yes, sir.” “I know he loves to run the football,” Davis-Price said of the younger Shanahan’s offense. “I’ll make sure we continue to do a lot of it. I promise you.”
