ICA officers at Tanjong Pagar Scanning Station had directed the 40-footer container for radiographic scanning and noticed anomalies in the scanned image. During the enhanced checks, ICA found the smuggled liquor and more than 12 cartons of duty-unpaid cigarettes. In another case on June 18, ICA officers at Pasir Panjang Scanning Station uncovered 48 bottles of duty-unpaid assorted liquor, 72 cans of duty-unpaid beer and a carton of undeclared meat in a shipping container.Buying, selling, conveying, delivering, storing, keeping, possessing or dealing with duty-unpaid goods are serious offences under the Customs Act and the Goods and Services Tax Act.
