A 47-year-old man was arrested and charged in court for allegedly molesting two women in the vicinity of Tampines Central.Through follow-up investigations and with the aid of images from CCTVs and police cameras, officers from Bedok Police Division established the man's identity and arrested him within two hours of the report.
The man was charged in court on Saturday with outrage of modesty, which carries a jail term of up to three years, a fine, or caning, or any combination of such punishments. The police said they have zero tolerance towards sexual offenders who threaten the personal safety of the community and offenders will be dealt with sternly in accordance with the law.
They added:"The police would also like to urge members of the public to remain vigilant, and if they witness an incident of outrage of modesty or are aware of someone being a victim of outrage of modesty, to report the matter to the police immediately."
