Police have identified the man killed in a shooting in Brampton on Thursday evening.

Peel police found a man suffering from gunshot wounds near Rutherford and Bramsteele Roads at around 7:10 p.m. He was taken to a hospital trauma centre where he later died.

The victim was identified on Saturday as Aomar Abdolah, 36, from Milton. Police believe the shooting may have been targeted, and that there is no threat to public safety. Police add that the suspects may have used a white, four-door newer model Toyota Scion, with black rims, to escape from the crime scene.
