Longer waiting times seen after LRT-2 collision

MANILA - The number of passengers hurt in the collision of 2 coaches of the Light Rail Transit 2 climbed to 34 as authorities warn that commuters are in for longer wait times while the damaged trains are taken out of service.

Among those still in the hospital is a passenger who dislocated his shoulder and another one who one sprained his arm, Cabrera said.Watch more in iWant or TFC.tv Speaking to ANC, Cabrera said the collision happened after an unmanned train started moving on its own from the pocket track and wound up on the eastbound track of the railway. An investigation is underway.

As of Sunday morning, operations of the entire LRT-2 are still suspended to give way for safety checks.Cabrera meanwhile assured the riding public that the LRT-2 management is working to ensure the safety of its passengers following the collision.
