Benjamin Holdar knew exactly what to do when he spotted a coral snake Monday night outside of his Northwest Side home through the patio door."I've been pretty vigilant about teaching him not to approach wild snakes and to inform an adult," the father said."I was proud he was able to identify it as a coral snake and understood the danger."Holdar, 35, said this was the second coral snake he had found on his property in the last six months.
He describes himself as an amateur herpetologist who has nonvenomous snakes as pets, and has taught his son about which snakes to be mindful of.
