He’s in his fifth season with Missouri but took away a key lesson from that early trip to Columbia: “Mizzou started homecoming,” Robinson said this week. “I remember I learned that on my recruiting visit.”
“Not only is our university community very excited about it, I know our Columbia community is very excited,” Missouri coach Eli Drinkwitz said. “I know my family is very excited about the parade.”With bowl eligibility already secured and sights set on bigger games down the stretch of the 2023 season, there’s been plenty of celebration for the Tigers — but Drinkwitz doesn’t want players’ heads to get too big.
Trap game in the making?Drinkwitz is stressing a healthy focus on securing a win against the Gamecocks, a game in which the Tigers are favored by roughly a touchdown. “For us, it’s a big focus on focusing on us and controlling the things that we can control,” Drinkwitz said. “I cannot, nor can our team, control what South Carolina is going to do from a schematic standpoint. All we can focus on is improving our techniques and fundamentals and making sure that we’re seeking growth opportunities and not becoming comfortable with that win.”
