A man was taking his children out for ice cream to celebrate his new job when they were killed in a horrific crash in Massapequa, police said.
-- A father, 60, and his two children, 13 and 10, were killed in a horrific crash in It happened at Unqua Road and Sunrise Highway at around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday. Police said their initial investigation determined a car was speeding on Sunrise Highway when it hit three other vehicles.
"I was at the first scene in Massapequa yesterday. It was a horrific accident because of somebody driving excessively, at fast speeds on our roads here in Nassau County," said Nassau County Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder. More from CBS News
