Police and firefighters rushed to the scene of a major single-vehicle collision in Sacramento on Wednesday.

FILE: Police officers and firefighters responded to a single-vehicle collision in Sacramento, Calif., on Wednesday.One adult and two children were killed, and eight other individuals, including seven children, were injured in asingle-vehicle crash in Sacramento’s Northgate neighborhood Wednesday night, officials said.

The Sacramento Police Department said it responded to a report of the crash at 8:15 p.m. on the 900 block of San Juan Road, near Rio Tierra Park, and found 11 injured individuals at the scene. All 11 people were in a silver sedan, the police told SFGATE. As officers and firefighters offered medical aid, they discovered that one adult was deceased.
