A new Coupe joins the family—bringing with it a new, more powerful engine.
that joins Genesis's GV80 midsize luxury SUV family. Like the many coupe-SUVs from German luxury brands , the GV80 Coupe essentially is a regular GV80 with a more dramatic roofline that plunges lower over the cargo area than the roof on the more upright, regular GV80.
Where all GV80s, Coupe or otherwise, come with either a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine or a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6, the Coupe offers the twin-turbo six with electric supercharging and a 48-volt mild-hybrid setup. Final power figures are forthcoming, but in the G90 luxury sedan, this combo is good for 409 hp and 405 lb-ft of torque. No changes are noted for the 2.5-liter I-4 and non-supercharged twin-turbo V-6, but those currently produce 300 hp and 375 hp respectively.
