The second generation of the compact model will be more of an extensive facelift and less of a complete overhaul
The 2025 BMW 2-Series Gran Coupe has been uncovered from patent drawings and spy shots. Styling and interior updates will be heavily inspired by the 1-Series hatchback. Like the 1-Series, it will ride on an updated version of the existing platform. Despite BMW calling the new 1-Series the fourth generation of the hatchback, it's actually a heavily updated version of its predecessor.
These look similar to newer BMWs like the mechanically-related X2, making us wonder why the automaker didn't apply them to all trims of the 2-Series Gran Coupe. Another small but important update is the slightly tweaked line on the C-pillar, trying to bring back BMW's iconic Hofmeister kink.
