has been coy on details concerning the technical specifications of the Integra Type S which are expected to mirror the closely-related Honda Civic Type R. It has been confirmed that the performance-focused compact fastback will be fitted with a “high-revving” turbocharged 2.0-liter VTEC engine producing more than 300 hp. Power will be transmitted to the front axle exclusively through a six-speed manual gearbox, with the help of a limited-slip differential.
The company promised it will reveal more about the 2024 Integra Type S closer to its market launch which is scheduled for this summer. Besides the camouflaged prototype of the roadgoing model, the GTP makes its racing debut this weekend, starting from pole position. Acura hopes to replicate last year’s 1-2 finish, racing with the #60 Meyer Shank Racing and the #10 Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti Autosport vehicles.
