Real Madrid and France striker Karim Benzema has walked away with football's biggest individual prize for the first time following a sensational 2021/22 season in which he helped Los Blancos win the UEFA Champions League, LaLiga and Spanish Super Cup titles.
He scored a career-high 44 goals and provided 15 assists in 46 matches across all competitions for Real last season, and also helped Les Bleus win the 2021 UEFA Nations League trophy with a Man of the Match performance in the final as France defeated Spain 2-1.
