and the Z4 did not. The reasoning was that the Supra is the purer/more elemental sports car than the BMW. It really requires its driver to be precise and use calm inputs to get the most out of the thrilling coupe. We also did a morebetween the Supra and Z4 to make certain. For the money, the Supra won again. Also note that after about 2.5 years on the market, the Supra has sold roughly 17,000 units to the Z4's 8,000.
Perhaps this all explains why, to the last day of our yearlong test car's stay, respect and admiration of the Supra in the public's eye remained strong. We've noted how many folks, who might be intimidated to approach us while refueling a Ferrari or Lamborghini, would routinely stroll up, camera in hand, and say,"Wow, is that the new Supra?"OK, makes sense, as our yellow Supra was definitely an eye-catching sports car.
