Two South Carolina men are facing charges of hate crimes and obstruction of justice in the 2019 murder of Pebbles LaDime “Dime” Doe, a 24-year-old transgender woman, prosecutors say.
Prosecutors said Daqua Ritter, 26, shot Pebbles LaDime "Dime" Doe due to her “actual and perceived gender identity,” in Allendale, South Carolina in August 2019.Two South Carolina men have been hit with charges spanning hate crimes and obstruction in the 2019 murder of a transgender woman, prosecutors announced Tuesday.
After shooting Doe, Ritter misled state investigators about his whereabouts the day of the murder, prosecutors said.
