A small earthquake on Monday morning rattled the same area in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta where a 4.6 shaker hit last week.
The 2.9 magnitude quake struck at 7:42 a.m. Monday on Twitchell Island, about 3.5 miles south-southwest of the Sacramento County community of Iselton, according to the U.S. Geological Survey .The earthquake was initially reported to be a 4.0 magnitude but it was later downgraded. There were no reports of damage or injuries.On October 18, a 4.2 magnitude quake struck the same area, and triggered a ShakeAlert warning when it was initially reported as a 5.
