This 2.6-metric-ton cargo pallet is now slated to naturally reach the Earth's atmosphere between March 8 and 9, 2024.

In January 2021, nine old batteries were thrown from the International Space Station . It is reportedly the heaviest piece of ISS trash that will reenter Earth.

Harvard-Smithsonian astronomer Jonathan McDowell mentioned on X that the pallet “will not totally burn up on reentry—about half a ton of fragments will likely hit the Earth’s surface.” However, a growing amount of space junk resulting from rocket launches and defunct satellites poses significant issues in near-Earth orbit.
