Former State Rep. Donna Harris, D-East Chicago, was remembered for her big heart and dedication to the community Tuesday by family and friends as they mourned her unexpected passing.
“One of the things, when it comes to my mother, she really did have the biggest heart ever. She cared about everybody in so many ways there were not out in public. It was just Mom being Mom. She helped out so many people,” State Rep. Earl Harris Jr., said. Donna Harris, who died Sunday, represented House District 2 from 2015 to 2016 following the death of her husband, Rep. Earl Harris Sr., and is part of a political legacy passed on to her son. “The role model part is so true.
